The local store is SQLCipher-encrypted with its key held in the device keychain, and the app locks behind biometrics. Evidence never leaves the device unless you export it.

On a LiDAR-equipped iPhone or iPad, SceneLedger builds the plan while you move through the scene — walls, doors, windows and objects picked up with real dimensions, no drawing skill required. Finish one room and start the next; the app assembles them into a single master scene plan. On devices without LiDAR it steps you through a guided capture instead, and manual drawing is always there as a fallback.

The same captured scene reads two ways: an explorable 3D model, and a top-down 2D plan you can correct by hand. Drag a single corner or move a whole wall from its midpoint, then place doors, windows and openings where they belong. How each measurement was captured is recorded alongside it, so the plan carries its own provenance. Buildings, vehicles and outdoor yards are all handled.

Each item gets its own numbered record: photographs, description, seizure time, who seized it, the room it came from, its position on the plan, and GPS with an accuracy estimate. From there the movement history is append-only — located, seized, into storage, transferred, uplifted, returned — each entry carrying time, place, handler and a verification photograph. Print QR labels if you want them; handwritten exhibit numbers keep working exactly as before.

Choose what to hand over — a complete PDF evidence report, an Excel workbook with the exhibit register and movement sheets, the original photographs, recordings, plans and 3D model — and SceneLedger packages them together. The bundle carries a structured record of the scene and a manifest listing a SHA-256 hash of every file in it. Nothing goes anywhere until you share or email it.
